I began this drawing a little differently from what I usually do, with a gradient in PS and then working on it from there. I had planned to spend lots of time on this, but I'm pretty happy with it as it is.

Unless that's a specific type of art style, the shading could be a tad smoother for my tastes (looks better at a distance), but I like the overall composition. Reminds me a bit of pokemon card art... if they're still doing card designs in this general style.

Reading the other comments... I wouldn't worry too much about the whole 'beak' thing. I've seen a lot of interpretations of charmander, and I don't think this isn't all that unusual.

As of when it comes to shading style. I guess I kind of like the "rough" look. Watching it in full size is pretty awful though. Just forgot to size it down XD
